Level 42

Level 42 is a British rock band. He was trained in the early 1980s by the Islanders of Wight, Mark King on bass, Phil Gould on drums, then joined by Mike Lindup on keyboards and Dominic Miller, originally on guitar, subsequently replaced by Boon Gould.

The band has an excellent reputation for its instrumental part, added from the unprecedented combination of Mark King's voice, as lead singer most of the time, and accompanied by Mike Lindup's falsetto as second singer in many tracks. Level 42 is also considered> as one of the pioneers of the "brit-funk" movement with the English group Imagination.

Regarding the origin of the name of the formation, the "42" would come from The Great Question about life, the universe and the rest, as imagined by Douglas Adams in The Galactic Traveler's Guide and Level means "Level" in French.

After the first hits in 1981 with albums and their rather jazz-funk singles like Love Meeting Love or Love Games>, Level 42 opts for a more commercial orientation.
